Meet Paul

Associate Psychotherapist

From an early age, I've been naturally drawn to helping others understand their thoughts and build meaningful connections. This evolved through my work in community building, education, and now psychotherapy.

I've spent over two decades creating spaces where people feel genuinely supported and connected—from hosting gatherings for those who struggle to make social connections to directing an organization that helps individuals leaving high-control societies. This work has given me a deep appreciation for the healing power of community during life's transitions.

As an educator for twelve years, I specialized in working with neurodivergent students, particularly those with ADHD, and children facing various challenges in traditional learning environments. My background in curriculum development and individualized learning plans taught me that everyone deserves an approach tailored to their unique needs.

These experiences form the foundation of my therapy practice today, where I combine my passion for helping people build support networks with evidence-based therapeutic techniques to provide compassionate, effective mental health care.

My Approach: Integrative and Client-Centered

Client-Centered Approach: The therapeutic journey begins with collaboration. Together, we define clear objectives, establish checkpoints, and select meaningful metrics. By doing so, we ensure that your progress is observable and tangible. By regularly reviewing your progress, we can celebrate the milestones achieved and adjust our strategies as needed, ensuring that your journey towards well-being is both rewarding and fulfilling.

Psychodynamic Base: Imagine therapy as an excavation—an exploration of the hidden layers within. We delve into patterns of behavior, emotional attachments, and the motivations behind our actions. The goal of this approach is to explore our experiences without judgment and determine how our thoughts, emotions, and behaviour impact our world.

Eclectic Toolbox: Understanding your experience is essential, but it’s equally crucial to equip yourself with effective tools for navigating life’s challenges. Together we will create a toolbox that is designed to empower you, providing customized strategies to address difficulties and foster growth and resilience. Within this toolbox, we will draw from a range of evidence-based approaches, including Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Narrative Therapy, Mindfulness, and Positive Psychology. These combined tools form a comprehensive resource to support your journey toward well-being and personal development.
